Focus has been supported in the domain of risk mapping and small-scale mitigation projects:
- training on the job for risk mapping
- assistance for map production
- quality assurance for mapping products and protection works
- establishing a illustrated guide for the use, interpretation and application of maps by local engineers
Project Description
Risks from natural hazards are prevailing in the mountainous areas of northern Pakistan. The development of hazard and risk maps and small-scale mitigation works for infrastructure and private assets as well as community mobilisation and awareness building were the objectives of the various Dipecho projects in distinct villages of the area.
